We celebrated my sister's 22nd birthday last night and she requested a pink ombre cake with violet ombre ruffle frosting. I have to admit that it turned out pretty cute! True to form she also requested a crown on top and after a quick trip to Target we found the perfect little tiara to make all her birthday dreams come true. I might be secretly kind of sad when my little sister starts asking for dark chocolate souffles or summer berry pavlovas instead of her usual princess-style cakes. I seriously doubt that will happen anytime soon, though :)

Beautiful! Kind of want to see the inside of the cake! I tried an ombre cake once and it didn't turn out quite like I'd wanted.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Carrie! I so wish we had gotten a good picture of the inside. It was kind of a massacre :/ A really delicious one, though! My tip would be to focus on making sure the last layer is really super saturated with color. It will make up for the other layers not being tinted enough :)
