Do you make homemade granola? If the answer is no, then I highly suggest that you start immediately. There is no better feeling than waking up knowing that you have a jar of pure goodness waiting for you. It makes great gifts, gets the kids involved and eating something crunchy other than potato chips, and makes your house smell amazing. For breakfast we usually top a few scoops of honey vanilla yogurt (or almond milk for me) with a handful (or two) of granola along with whatever fresh fruit we have on hand. Sometimes there are dark chocolate chips involved :)
Many batches ago I used this recipe as my springboard and over time it has transformed into something so perfect for our family that we can't help but eat half of it right off the sheet tray. Some versions that we have tried and loved include:
cinnamon, cardamom, vanilla bean, dried apricot
peanut butter, raisin, dried apples
dark chocolate chip, dried cranberry
white chocolate chip, dried apricot, dried currant
And quite literally, the list goes on and on. So do you and your family a favor and start working on your own signature granola. You won't regret it.
